About me

Hi, I'm Edith. I love love and connecting.

Connect

Connecting is a common thread through my life and entrepreneurship. As a 15-year-old girl I was already writing in my diary; I will later become a relationship therapist. I did think I had to be older, wiser and knowledgeable. In my youth I experienced how important it is to be really connected and how painful it can be when that is not the case. From an early age I observed people in relation to each other. What made people happy and loving? And when were they paved or closed? How can you be open, really connect and the love really flow? Those were questions I was brooding on. I quickly realized that a loving world starts with yourself.

Experience

I have made my work out of my observations. In my role as the owner of a daycare center, I have created a place for children for years where they could develop in complete safety. I also taught yoga for years where I always saw the effect of making contact with yourself.

I have been working with couples and families for over 20 years. Every time I am moved when love starts flowing again. And when I see the power of connecting.

I have completed several courses; the Intensive Training in System Therapy at the Lorentz House as a relationship, – & family therapist, (system therapist), Pedagogy, post-graduate training in parent counseling and Family Coaching. I also specialize in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman therapy and Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)

I have an open attitude, everything can be said and shared from a respectful attitude towards each other. I am involved, practical, warm and listen with attention and recognition for what was and is. Where can you still grow, yourself and/or in your relationship, I think that’s a wonderful question.

Personal

Together with Thijs we have a family with 3 children and a dog. What a richness, also chaos and liveliness. We have been together for 20 years now, and yes, we also have our ups and downs. Our children are now teenagers in high school and my 21-year-old bonus son already lives on his own. Every phase in the relationship and parenthood has new challenges. We also know what it takes to keep love alive.

I like to go back to the essence. In things, in relationships, in my work. What really matters? I see where it can be simpler. It’s not just about taking things away, but about creating real space in my life, intentions and heart. I like to make room for beautiful experiences, such as traveling and going into nature.

To love is to have guts. There is no place where you can grow more than in a relationship. I am grateful that I am doing this work to see how couples are reconnecting with each other. I wish everyone a loving life. Because love is the most beautiful thing there is.

“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” The Little Prince
